We are back from SG!

DOH! We have been back for 2 weeks, but I got very busy with work and am still very busy actually. We had a fantastic trip, good food, good shopping, met up with my parents, friends and F1!!!

I was never a big F1 fan, but I really enjoyed the race. The sharp turn, the high speed, the crashes... WOW..... thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you very much to Matt, my dearest bf for taking me there and all the shopping! Muaks!

I will post more pics and details about the trip soon. When I have time!!!

Check out my food blog for all the food tasting in SG!

Random Stuff

I have so many drafts waiting to be published yet I have no intention to complete them :(

I am sitting here thinking what else do I need to pack for the trip? I really can't think of anything as I believe Singapore has everything!

I had a job interview today, somehow it wasn't the same thing I expected and definitely not what I was told initially by the person who recommended for the job. I hinted the interviewer that the job is too easy for me and I dont think they can afford what I expect to be paid. Anyway, I also told them I am not desperate to leave my current company hence it would have to be a damn good offer to make me leave the current company.

I am sleepy! Yes...very sleepy. It was a busy day for me, so busy at work and then busy doing last minute shopping!

Ok, I better watch some TV to relax then checked my bags again.

Aussie Car Drivers Review

I came across a very interesting Australian Drivers Review recently and it was done by a very comprehensive Interactive Driving Survey, organised by Private Fleet. It is indeed very interesting to find out the different habits that us Australian drivers have developed over time with technology. This was the press release:

Private Fleet has just completed the most comprehensive survey of its kind ever done in Australia giving a fascinating and sometimes shocking insight into the habits of drivers across the country.

2,500 Australian drivers were surveyed and their responses shed some light on many age old driving questions.

Detailed and comprehensive statistics on controversial topics such as women drivers, Holden vs Ford, city or country, P-Platers and Volvo drivers are all available via our interactive survey.

Being an interactive survey, YOU can choose the information YOU want to see. Always suspected elderly Honda drivers were the slowest on the road? Is it true that South Australian Toyota drivers are more aggressive than NSW country drivers? With something like 10,000 possible combinations to explore, you’ll find the answers to your most detailed suspicions.

The results are often surprising and always revealing – a few extracts follow:

While young (17-25) Toyota drivers are 40% more likely than the average driver to talk on the phone whilst driving, they are about 30% less likely to drink and drive

The best overall statistically reliable segment of drivers are female drives in QLD aged between 41 and 60. The worst drivers are (perhaps unsurprisingly) male P-Platers from NSW

Male drivers are worse drivers in all categories except “Text Messaging Whilst Driving” category which female drivers came out tops.

Summary by Car Type

Overall Holden hold the unenviable title of housing Australia’s worst drivers where as Mazda come out on top as the having the best behaved drivers.

When it comes to talking on the phone (without using a hands-free), VW drivers are the worst offenders with 74% admitting to having committed such an offence whilst only 60% Mazda drivers admit to the same

A surprise when it comes to ‘leadfoots’, with VW taking out the title as 54% admit to exceeding the speed limit by more than 30kmh. The unhurried Hyundai driver reveals just 32% breaking the limit by more than 30km/hr

BMW drivers may be the best behaved when it comes to text messages but they take out the dubious honour of the worst drink drivers with 42% admitting to having driven after drinking 3 or more standard alcoholic drinks. Honda drivers keep it straight with less than 33% admitting the same.

Summary by State

Overall, South Australia is home to the country’s worst drivers whilst Australian Capital Territory drivers are (comparatively) squeaky clean!

With mobile phones, 21% of SA drivers admit to (often or sometimes) talking on the phone whilst driving whilst just 10% of ACT drivers confess to the same. Similarly South Australian send text messages whilst driving at ten times the rate of their ACT counterparts (10% vs 1%).

Speed freaks head for Tasmania where nearly 50% of drivers say that they have exceeded the speed limit by more than 30 km/hr whilst Victorians take their time as only 39% putting their pedal to the metal.

The results for Question 13 was 'interesting'. Somehow I dont believe only 32 people out of 2424 that often intimidate other drivers on road. I come across 'tailgaters' on a daily basis :p

I am a Toyota driver, and I have to say I hardly talk to on the phone when I am driving. I would always tell the caller that I am driving and I will ring them back as soon as I can. Texting while driving is very dangerous indeed, I did it a few times and I have to admit it did create certain level of danger.

Why are Mazda drivers the best behaved? *Ponder. Hey, I was a Mazda driver!

BMW drivers involve in most drink driving cases, can I assume because majority of BMW drivers are business men and they tend to drink more when they are out entertaining customers?

Male drivers are worse drivers in all categories except “Text Messaging Whilst Driving” category which female drivers came out tops. Once again, females are proven to be the safer drivers! Yay! We maybe bad at reading maps, but we drive safer!

South Australia is home to the country’s worst drivers. I happen to know someone who drives in SA. /cough

Hopefully Australian drivers can drive more cautiously after reading the results of this survey. Just remember that when you are driving on a road, you are not only risking your life, but others as well.

Nice Journey

I was driving on Kwinana Freeway one Sunday early afternoon, and this was the scenery I enjoyed while driving. What a beautiful day.... could never experience such scenery in KL. :p

Auto Salon

Auto Salon show in Perth Convention Centre. Matt took me there, was quite disappointing though, not many cars. For $18 per ticket, think it is kind of a rip off.
Some did catch my attention....can never understand the extend people will go to modify their cars. Some are just sooo ugly
Definitely MY type of car!

When there are cars, there are girls... well.. no comment on the girls but 'yuk!'

VERIEEEE nice.. (Borat's style)

This is indeed very fat, with all the side body kits, fatter than Matt's supra

I love the matte coating!

This is a BMW, but the owner made it so ugly. It should be a classy car..../sigh

Boomers vs Iran

Matt LOVESSSS basketball, haha I used to play basketball ages ago when I was in primary school. I know ... very long time ago indeed.

To pamper him after his work shift, I bought tickets to watch Boomers Vs Iran game held in Challenge Stadium, it was a friendly match before Olympics. They were in the same group in Olympics, thus they organised a match.

OOo... one of the Iran players was so cute... I was secretly staring at him...:p

Sick

So I am sick at the moment, throat infection and fever. MY company practised strict leave policy so off I went to see my GP to get a cert to prove that I am indeed unfit for work.

My GP wasn't available so I was referred to another female doc, I was reluctant but did not have a choice. She is an Asian doc with an Aussie last name, must have married to an ang mo. Anyway, she apologised for the wait, I waited 30 mins...... She was very efficient though, quick I should say.

She asked me several questions to update my profile, and advised me on my Thalasemia condition. Basically things I already knew. Then she asked if I was single, I said yes. No kid? No. And confirmed that I am on pills and anti histamine. Yes and Yes.

Then she told me I have throat infection and prescibed me some antibiotics. She reminded me that the antibiotics will eliminate the pills that I am taking for 7 days and blablabla... Then she asked me to use condoms for the next 2 weeks.

Then I realised I just told her I am single but I am on pills, will that make her think I sleep around that's why I need pills? Then she suggested me to have a pap smear, that kinda tells me that she does think so. :p

For a split second, I wanted to clarify, but thought what the heck.... my personal life is none of her business..

Politics

So WA state election campaign is on, Labour and Liberal are fighting like cats and dogs. I am not into politics, and definitely not too familiar with this country politics. However, I always chuckle when I heard the radio or see TV ads about the election, how these parties insult, condemn, criticise one another. I mean they do it so openly!

You have to admit you can’t see that in Malaysia, in Malaysia, they will try to put you in jail instead, so they have less competitors. LOL

Need Another Great Challenge

Today is a ‘rare’ day for me, as I wasn’t busy at work :p I have bits and pieces to finish off but nothing need to be completed in a hurry. Sometimes, I can be so busy that everyone at work will ask one another “Why is Jane so quiet today?”. Doh… because I am busy and have a deadline to meet!

I am happy to say that I am currently in a very comfortable phase of my life. I have a job, a steady and considerably good salary, a smart and good looking bf (I have to say something nice just in case he reads my blog), a great group of friends, a not so fancy but reliable car and also currently pursueing a certificate in accounting and finance. Thus I think I am ready for a great challenge now! AN INVESTMENT PROPERTY!

I am planning to buy a property in the next 12 – 18 months, depending on Perth economy, ideally will be within 12 months but I keep telling myself that I can’t rush buying a property. So I have spoken to a mortgage broker, and found out that I am not a desirable candidate for First Home Buyer but I can get a loan of over 330k if I want to buy an investment property. I was told that I need to get rid of my car loan, and reduce my credit card limit. Credit card is not a problem at all as I don’t owe credit card a hell lot, maybe another $500 in there this month but my car……..>_<. So I am going to spend next 12 months to pay off my car loan of over 14k. Yea, wish me luck. It is doable, but needs sacrifices and determination…/rawr!

My Diet

I was very fat for a period of time, I was a size 12 approx. 3 years ago. I felt like a whale, especially whenever my parents told me that I was FAT!

After I got together with Matt, I started to watch what I eat, control the amount, frequency and blend in some exercises from time to time. I hate working out, so I focus on my diet.

I started to get smaller, I became size 10 then now a size 8! Oh well, i still have to get size 10 for certain cuttings because I dont like tight body hugging pants and shirts.

One thing I learned about dieting is I have to eat food that I like, if I don't like the food I eat, I will tend to munch on snack.

So I started to pack lunch to work, and also snacks that I have between before and after lunch. This is very good as I can save heaps of money by not buying lunch.

I do not skip carb in my diet, I eat everything and anything, but small portions and eat every 2-3 hours depending how hungry I get.

So this is what I eat..... Mon - Fri, I tend to have a break on weekends, I go out with friends to restaurant or cooking nice meals for Matt and myself when he is back.

Breakfast - 8am - 1 slice of peanut butter sandwich + coffee OR 1 glass of soy milk. Peanut butter is fattening but thats my favourite!

Snack - 11am - custome made yogurt or another slide of bread with peanut butter or 1 fruit

Lunch - 1:30pm - Salad with 1 piece of meat (fish or chicken only) OR small portion of left over dinner (noodle or rice) OR vege soup (big bowl)

Snack - 3:30pm - 1 fruit (So you see I have at least 2 fruits a day)

Dinner - 6/7pm - Eat anything I want but small portion, as I will still feel pretty full from the 3:30pm snack.

Of course, I try to be as versatile as possible for my lunch, from home-made pizza (with pita bread) to egg fried rice. Sometimes, I will bring sweets as well like agar-agar :p Basically, I will make my lunch pack as exciting as possible, so I will look forward to eating the food and feel content after eating them.

I also drink green tea and herbal tea through out the day when I am at work. I drink this special detox tea every fortnight to flush my system, I feel so much lighter after the 'detox' session.

Oh, there is one good thing about me. I dont like sweet pastries and drinks. So I don't drink any soft drink, the only sweet drink I drink are coffee, juice and bubbletea!

Yoga Again

I am thinking of taking up Yoga again, I need something to help me relax.

I am so overwhelmed by work and studies lately, that I couldn't sleep well at night and I am starting to resent work (Which is definitely a big NO NO seeing my expenses are ever increasing).

Relationship wise... oh well.. full of ups and downs. I started to review my past relationships and all my ex bfs. A friend every commented that I am a person who needs to be constantly in love, I need to have a bf and I am lucky enough to hardly run out of men in my past 25 years of lives. She said it could because it is important for me to find a companion, that's why I am never short of 'bf'.

I started dating when I was 16...... that was when I lost my first kiss, it was a total disaster.

1st bf - Chen Seng.....

He is a very tall guy, I had no idea why I decided to be with him. I was too young I guess, too much pressure from parents; I wasn't allowed to have bf at that age. I felt he was rather possesive, because he wanted to talk to me on the phone every night and see me every weekend, which should be normal for normal couple; but not for me. In the end, I was tired of the pressure and sneaking around, I ended it. He did try to ask me out again a couple of years later, but feelings weren't there for sure and he wasn't that type of guy I wanted.

2nd bf - Kwang Hooi

He was the first guy that I showed to my parents. My parents were happy with him, because he was stable, mature, had a career and very protective towards me. Again, I think it wasn't the right timing, I was young; only 18, I wanted all the attention I could get from him. Unfortunately, his career came before me and he was spending less and less time on me. I gave up finally, but he asked for a second chance; I gave in. 2 weeks later, I called him to end it, simply because I am tired of struggling, tired of getting attention from him, tired of telling him I am lonely.

3rd bf - Michael

Ha ha.. I am not sure if I should call him my 'bf', because he wasn't serious with me at all. He was just fooling around and I caught him cheating. Believe it or not, he is still trying to get my attention at this very moment and asked me to forgive him for something that happened 7 years ago. He was the biggest black mark in my life.....

4th bf - Andrew

I never doubted his sincerity towards me. I knew he was very serious about the relationship and planned for our future. Unfortunately, his attitude was wrong. Our relationship was the most miserable one that I ever had. We were together for 18 months, but I cried for 12 months. He is married with 1 duaghter in US now, but his attitude is still the same. I feel sorry for his wife.

5th bf - Adrian

Adrian was a fantastic bf, but to be honest, I have always doubted his love to me when we were together. When it all ended, I was quite convinced that he didn't love me as much as he claimed he did, because his love to his religion is way over and beyond our love. It took me awhile to get over the break up, I was so devastated that I thought of giving in, choosing to believe in things I couldn't believe. I was glad we didn't patch up, now I could see Adrian will never be the man I desire. He is getting married in April, glad that he found the girl he wanted.

6th bf - Matt

Matt is by far the most intelligent bf I ever had, smart and has this wicked sense of humour. He never failed to make me laugh and of course make me cry very easily as well. This relationship is full of ups and downs but I have never given up. Whenever I felt like giving up, there was always some sort of light led me back believing things will be alright. Matt is unique compare to the guys I dated, maybe that's why I am crazy over him and I still love him very much. We have very similar interests, except for cars, we like watching basketball (I am not as crazy as him), we believe in working hard and enjoying life when we can, we have similar taste when it comes to fashion and style. I do hope he is my last bf.....

Learn To Be Happy

I've realised that I am the kind of person that does not know how to make myself happy. I often have to ask myself "Am I happy?", I do feel like an emotion retard sometimes because how come I do not know if I am happy or not?

I admire people who are always happy, I really want to know how they do it.

I thought at my age, I have learnt all the fundamentals to be a 'good', 'normal' human being, but I think I have yet mastered the skill to be HAPPY.

Sometimes, I know that I will be unhappy when I find out the truth about something, and yet I will insist to find out the truth and get extremely upset over it. A lot of friends asked why I wanted to know the truth when I know very clearly that I will be very upset after.

Sigh... I really need to learn how to make myself happy

Ponder

Do you often wonder why people do certain things? Do you often ask yourself "What did he do that?" "What was she thinking?" "How can they do that?"

I often find myself asking the same questions, sometimes I have absolutely no idea why some people would do things that didn't even cross my mind.

I have that feelings especially when I see news like "father killed 3 children", "Mother starved child to death"

What has the world has become... I can't imagine what will happen in 20 years time. /tsk /tsk

Glasses Online

I have never bought a pair of glasses in Perth, other than sunglasses. Simply because I don't like most of the designs and they are very expensive (well, for those frames that are not covered by my private health cover).

Now we have ZenniOptical with modern and stylish prescription glasses starting from $8.00.

Most of Zenni precription glasses come with anti-scratch coating and UV protection. Good bargain I reckon.

Other than the competitive prices, you also have more options when it comes to the design of the frame. Funky, modern, elegant, simple, classy.

Buying your glasses online save you the time to go to a shop and then back again to collect your glasses. Another good thing about buying glasses from ZenniOptical, the postage is a flat rate per order, doesn't matter how many glasses you order in ONE order.

BRAs

Right, people who have met me before know that I am pretty voluptous and I am not ashamed to admit that I have rather big breasts for my petite figure and my Asian heritage.

Since I was 10, I realised that I started developing quicker compare to my classmates. Thank GOD for my mom who understands how important bra is to growing teenagers. So my mom always make sure I get to wear good and supportive bras.

As I get older, I learn to appreciate my body and no longer feel that my voluptous body as a burden but learn to compliment it with the different outfit and of course BRA.

Wearing the right bra is extremely important to women. I realised that many of my friends are actually wearing the wrong bra, and to be honest I suspect many of them have never gone for a professional bra fitting before. A quick tip will be, adjust the bra straps so that your breasts are actually lifted up, with the nipples looking straight; not down.

Girls should not be shamed to have a bra fitting session by the professionals at the lingerie shop, they can tell you what size suit you best and you will be amazed how good your body look with the right bra. I am a size 8 now, I was size 10 a month ago but believe it or not, I have been wearing size 12 bras and I know a size 8 girl that has to wear size 14 bra. So dont assume that your bra size is similar to your dress size. WRONG!

And do not think one bra fitting is sufficient, you bra shape and size change just like your body. So have a bra fitting session at least once a year to make sure your breats are well taken care off!

Hahah.. if you are too shy to have bra fitted for you by some strangers, feel free to bring me along, I can help you /wink /wink

Mario Cart!

Matt and I love this game, by far the best game we ever bought for Wii. We played this game day and night over last weekend. :p We were Mario Cart OUT. Totally overdosed.. hahaha

We searched for tips to unlocked characters, karts & bikes and circuits. Matt was so good that he managed to unlock all the circuits!

Then we play online via the wireless Internet. It was fun playing with other players instead of the computer.

I know this game is sold out at many stores, so good luck in getting one if you havent but plan to. Definitely worth the money :)

PayPerPost

Working from home is always a dream to me. I envy those people that can sit in front of their pc, in their pyjamas while cashing in money into their pockets.

I have never stopped looking for some freelance jobs that I can work from home. However, most of those freelance work from home jobs advertised on Internet are mainly direct selling, multi-level marketing or networ marketing businesses. Seriously, I have been there, dont that, and I know direct selling is not my cup of tea.

I heard about blog marketing some time ago, but had no idea where to start.

Then I came across PayPerPost on a few blogs that I have been reading and it triggered my interests. PayPerPost happens to be an organisation that offers bloogers opportunities to write review about anything and everything. Yeap, that's right. PayPerPost will post opportunities up on their web and registered bloggers can pick up any opportunities that interest them; and earn money by reviews!

I like PayPerPost because it ticks all the boxes for me, WORK FROM HOME, FLEXIBLE HOURS, GOOD RETURN and WORK FOR MYSELF.

Basically, I can write a review on any products and services that are posted on PayPerPost at my leisure, no specific deadline (well almost no), and I know exactly how much am I getting for the review I am writing. I also learned that some bloggers are cashing in big money by writing reviews for PayPerPost. :o

Besides that, I also came across many interesting products and services that are currently available online; especially those fancy latest gadgets and eco-friendly products.

Hopefully this extra income will allow me to tour Europe one day :p

Malaysian Airlines vs Air Asia

I have just booked my ticket back to Malaysia in Jan next year, need to go back for Chinese New Year so that my parents will not be too lonely. Since I moved to Perth, I have missed KL CNY twice, and my mom hated celebrating CNY without me. So now, I always try my best to arrange my annual leave around CNY.

Anyway... so Air Asia started to fly to Perth and I have heard good and bad reviews about them. I am pretty skeptical to be honest because my parents and sister had terrible experience with Air Asia when they went to Macau early this year. However, Karen assured me that Air Asia is fine.

I did some research, MAS is going to charge me $1250.00 for a economy return flight while Air Asia is only charging $583. So, Air Asia fare is definitely a lot lower and I decided to give me a shot.

To be on the safe side, I booked the 'business' class, which cost me $740. I just want to make sure that I don't suffer freaking 5 hours on the plane. I wouldn't mind being uncomfortable for 1 hour, but 5 hours is difinitely a NO NO. So this is the 'business' class seats, lookds pretty good, hope they are as good as they look.

Then, I saw an ad on the web 'Fly from KL to Brisbane from RM149'. I got excited! I thought, hey maybe I can fly to Brisbane from KL for a short holiday there then fly back to Perth. So I went to check it out, I got even more excited when I saw similar offer to fly from KL to Perth!!!!

So that means my parents can come to visit me at very very low fare, and I can pay for them if that's the case. So..... there you go, i did a quick search and tada!

WTH...... RM149 + RM149 + fucking tax = RM1507.00.

OK, it is not that expensive if I convert it to Aust currency but to someone who is earning normal wage in RM, it is still a significant amount.

I seriously thought it would be something like RM700 per return ticket ><. Guess I was too naive.

Lazy Saturday

UPDATE: Today turned out to be pretty productive actually. I studied, cleaned my car, spent 30 mins on Wii Fit, cleaned out my make up tray and also my jewellery. Now I need another box to keep the jewellery and man... I have to revamp most of my jewellery. Time to go back to jewellery making I guess.

Today is a super lazy Saturday for me. Woke up at 9am, then 10:30am and then finally got out of bed at 11:30am, which was totally out of my normal routine, waking up at 9am on weekends. Oh well, I went to bed only at 2am this morning, after 4.5 hours of mahjong and $35 losses.

I was bored last night (AGAIN!) so I decided to make another yogurt cake, just to use up all the thickened cream I have in the fridge. I promised I will post the recipe up on my food blog but I am just trying to adjust the ingredients and the size of the pan that I use to get the best result.

So after waking up this morning, I decided to make somehting for brunch. Having my diet plan in mind, I had a soft-boiled egg with one slice of toast.

Then I did my washing...... beautiful day today.... but I just wanted to rot at home.

So what's my plan for today? Is time to catch up with my studies and definitely watch all the movies that Matt downloaded for me and I want to watch Kung Fu Panda AGAIN!!! Watching Sex and The City as I type this entry :)

Alright, I know this is a super boring post... :p

LIFELESS

I am in one of those mood again that got me rather depressed. Matt is back at work so I am staying in alone tonight with Mylo, my loyal companion though he seems more depressed than me most of the time. Feel so lonely suddenly without Matt jumping, yelling, cheering, dancing (recently he always show me his robot dance that never fails to make me laugh) in front of me.

To cut back on mobile phone charges, we agreed to email one another whenever Matt is at work so he only has to call me once a day when he is off duty. Works pretty good so far. Then I realised, bugger my phone is absolutely quiet without him smsing me.

Does that mean I am lifeless? I mean when I was single, my phone rang all the time with sms’s and calls, with guys asking me out all the time. Now! ZzzzzzZZZzz. I know it could be the fact that I have changed my mobile# and I only gave the new number to close friends and family. Hey, I do not mean that I want to go dating with other guys now. I am totally not interested besides my botak (he shaved his head AGAIN!). I didn’t give my number to any business contacts at all (even my ex-boss), call me stupid but I am just so sick of the ‘business’ social circle that I had last time.

And of course, those guys who tried to ask me out do not have my new number at all. I am a good gf, pfft! Or.. should I?

But it definitely feels good when there are guys trying to ask me out and hit on me in public places. /Grin.

Kung Fu Panda

I LOVE this movie, or should I say cartoon.. hehe. This cartoon is so funny that there wasn't a dull moment. Ermm..except a short conversation that almost put Matt to sleep. Well, we were watching it on the bed before we went to sleep, so I didn't blame him.

The panda was sooo adorable, his tummy is so round, and his butt! Love the section where the master trained him using FOOD! Hahaha...

Please go to watch this movie if you haven't seen it. Highly recommended!

Dang!

Matt: We have to start planning our trip to Sg. I was thinking of going to Sentosa for the day? We didn't go there the last time.

Jane: Oh yea, that will be nice. I heard that place had some upgrades, I need to check.

Matt: Yea, you want to bring your bather along and we can have a swim there?

Jane: Er........ (Staring at my stomach)

Matt: *Grin

DIET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sex and The City

(Only read this post if you have seen Sex and The City, else this will be a super boring post)

I LOVE the movie, I love it so much that I watched it twice at the cinema alone. (I am a wierdo that enjoys watching movie by myself).

I believe every Sex and The City fan would enjoy the movie as much as I did. The movie did give the drama a good wrap up and ending, an ending that every Sex and The City fan is happy to see. Believe it or not, this movie did teach me a lot of things.

I came across a blogger who mentioned she couldn't understand why would Carrie forgive Big for leaving her right before the wedding after only 6 months. When I was watching the movie, I felt the same thing. And how could Miranda forgive Steve for cheating?

However, we should never judge one's relationship with someone. Carrie and Big been together for over 10 years, things that they been through could not be wiped off just like that. Love is not Mathematics, 1 + 1 may not be 2. So we may never understand why did Miranda forgive Steve, only they know why, but does it matter? They are happy....

Then Samantha asked "Does loving a person mean you mention his name 50 times a day, more than you mention yours?" "Does loving a person mean his needs come before yours?".

I thought about the questions, I do mention Matt a lot in front of my friends and colleagues (not 50 times a day for sure) and I always care for his needs, sometimes I may even put his needs before mine. Is that stupid? You may think I am, but I am happy to do that. Why judge me when I am doing something I enjoy?

Then you may ask me, does Matt put my needs before his. Yes and No..... depends on the needs I have. But Matt will let me do whatever I want as long as I am happy. So you see, 2 happy souls here, it doesn't matter who comes first, how we 'run' this relationship; there are no rules, as long as every stakeholder is happy. We do not have to report to anyone why we do this or that... and one should never judged us.

In the movie, Samantha loves Smith but she was not happy. She was not happy that his needs come first, she was upset that she was no longer who she was; and her misery was affecting Smith as well, so she left. I admired her courage for walking away from the one she loved for 5 years. She is a good example of "Be happy, life's too short".

Then Miranda forgave Steve in the end. Before she forgave him, they had a discussion with the marriage counsellor. Steve said he thought marriage was about 2 persons be together for the good and worst. They had the good times and Steve created the worst incident........

When Matt and I were going through a pretty rough patch, I said the exact line to Matt. I told him the day I said YES to be hig gf, I have made up my mind that I would be with him through the good and bad times, I wasn't going to walk away when the road gets rocky. Let's just say, after that incident and the 'talk', our relationship has gone to another level and we are still very happy together.

What I am trying to say is, when it comes to LOVE, there are no set rules. Outsiders will always judge us, there is nothing we can do but prove to them that we are truly happy.

Books

Once in a while, I will crave for books. I will buy a few books at once from book store or ebay. Then I will take my time to read them through.

I am currently on a books shopping spree again, looking for some books to read. Matt bought me 'Bringing Down The House' the real story behind the movie '21', about cards counting and such. I did not finish the book because I was not interested in cards counting really, and after I read how they count the cards, that's about it I guess? Cause that was the most important thing in the whole story?

I always go for books that are either inspiring or entertaining, in a nutshell, books that make me think and think about my life or make me laugh and laugh.

I enjoy reading Marian Keys book, currently looking at buying one of her bestsellers, 'Sushi for Beginners'. I was browsing Amazon.com and came across another book called 'Love the One You're With', seems very interesting. Unfortunately, it is very new thus ebay doesn't have this book on sale yet :(.

I have a problem now, I don't have space to keep my collection ><

Wii Fit

Last year, Matt bought a Wii Fit because I was so crazy over it. Then my excitement and enthusiasm died down a lot because the games became very boring and they were all the same.

Then Wii Fit was released and I was lucky enough, I managed to grab the second last Wii Fit in store (EB Games in Carousel). I was suprised to see Wii Fit is pretty accurate when it comes to measuring our weights, determining our postures and such.
According to Wii Fit, my BMI is ideal but I can lose another 5kg ( o.O ) to reach the perfect BMI of 22. Yea, tell me about it. Now, Matt will remind me to use the Wii Fit everyday to reach my goal weight.

I believe I can drop 5 kg if I use it religiously because my muscle are so sore now after a few sessions with Wii Fit, especially the Yoga and Muscle Workouts. :p

Study AGAIN....

I haven't mentioned, but I was recently promoted and now taking over the whole branch administration and accounting. My workload has increased tremendously but definitely makes my days go quicker. :)

Part of my promotion includes an accounting certificate course through TAFE. The course has just started and I have been busy studying. My next Feb pay review will depend on how well I do in this course. It is a 2 year course but I am expected to complete it within 10 months o.O.

Wish me luck!

New hair cut

New hair cut I got in late April. Somehow, it wasn't 'new' because it is pretty similar to my old hair style (before my perm hair style). Just that this hair is a better cut (I reckon).

:p

Oh well, at least it is something different from the curls.

Mylo

Mylo always prefer male, I think it is because male won't call him in those high pitch girlie voice. However, Mylo simply loves Matt, he would snuggle up to Matt when he is watching TV.

Follow him around the house, lie right next to the chair when he is using the computer and...... Sleep on Matt when he knows Matt is awake in the morning, as seen in the pictures above. In the pictures, Mylo was literally lying on Matt, on his stomach. No matter how Matt asked him to move, he just refused to get down.

I was so jealous.... stupid dog, I am the one who feed you and wash you ok!??? Why didn't you snuggle up to me???

Jealous jealous.....

Food Blogs

Recently, I am addicted to reading food blogs. I was never a big cooking fan when I was living in Malaysia. I dont know why, but it was probably I have parents who can cook fantastic dishes, my dad is a great cook but my mom is good at cooking the food I love, such as sambal squid, steam minced pork wit salted fish and dry scallop etc.

My parents never bothered to teach me cooking because they thought I would somehow manage to find something to eat when I am hungry. o.O

After I moved to Perth, my parents weren't worried that I did not know how to cook at all, because I was living with my uncle and aunty.

My first cooking experience started when I was dating Adrian, I started cooking and expored more recipes. Then somehow, most of the stuff that I cooked was actually edible and quite yummy.

That's how I started cooking and so far I enjoy cooking a lot, the only problem is there are not many people around to eat the thing I cook. :(

I have too started a food blog, hahaha I am Kiasu... I have been posting on the food blog, just that I don't think it has enough content to be published. Will publish it soon.

KL Trip - Chinese New Year

So what happened when I was back in KL? Same old same old, Chinese New Year season, sales everywhere, super humid weather, shopping crowd everywhere, annoying Chinese New Year song everywhere.

Mom and Sis dragged me to shopping the very next day after I touched down in KLIA. They took me to Mid Valley to buy new clothes and shoes, you would expect since my mom forced me to go shopping, she would pay for me, but no, I paid for myself. Total spending:RM400.

Sister took us to ‘Tou Long’ for lunch, she said the ‘Siow Long Bao’ there is nice. Well, somehow, the chef fucked up that day and the food was pretty bad. Lucky the ‘Siow Long Bao’ was ok, think we had like 4 trays of that because my nephew loves them. He ate most of them.

The worst dish was the ‘Fried Durian’, geez.. absolutely disgusting! The durian was not fresh, the batter was soggy. Ewww… still prefer durian pan cake from the Shanghai restaurant in Avenue K.

Anyway, that lunch did kill my appetite for the rest of the day.

So more shopping after that day, I was determined to get myself another pair of jeans and few pairs of shoes. I can hardly find any nice shoes that fit me in Perth, and the jeans are always too long for me (Doh!) and the alteration is so expensive in Perth. So my jeans and shoes are always from Malaysia. Though I have more than 30 pairs of shoes sitting in the cupboard, but girls never have enough shoes ok!??

I didn’t eat a lot when I was back, I don’t know why but I just didn’t feel like eating much. I probably only eat 1-2 meals a day, maybe I am so use to my 5 small meals diet that my appetite has shrunk. Oh.. everyone told me I have lost weight *blush

Then everyone who gave me ang pow would ask when is my turn to give ang pow. I am so sick of that question, when is my turn to give, I will give ok!!!???? Just don’t expect me to give in Aussie dollars! The next time someone asks me why would I want to get married, I would say “Because I want to give ang pows”. By the way, if you don’t want to give ang pow to me, then keep it, just don’t ask when will I give your children some.

Overall, it was not a bad holiday after all. Short but I liked it, less nagging from parents and spent less money.

Oh, so in total….

4 pairs of shoes, 1 Gucci bag (thanks to mom), 2 pairs of jeans, 7 tops, 1 shorts, 1 necklace (from the inflight duty-free, I was bored!!). Oh, mom gave me a diamond ring as well, after numerous times of telling her than I don’t think I will ever get one from a man. Hahahaha

Monday, February 04, 2008

I come across many people with different intensions when it comes to relationship. Some would just like to have a companion, doesn't matter if they would get married or not, some with the motive of having a family, some looking for a husband to financially support them because they are less capable than other women, and ect.

Sometimes, I still question myself, what do I want? Karen always asks me what do I want..... which I have to admit, quite often, I am not very certain. Seems that my wants are always changing. I think Karen is going to slap me one day.

When I see chubby babies, I want to be a mother immediately! When I see kids trying to climb up to the rails, counters, I don't want any children anymore. I see friends walking down the isle, I feel like arranging my own wedding, when I see friends negotiating settlement from their divorce, I swear marriage is no longer promising.

You see the problem? I dont fucking know what I want, does it mean I dont deserve to be in a relationship and seek what I want?

Sigh......

It is such a strange feeling to find out that one of my ex bfs is engaged, even stranger that he was still flirting with me 6 months ago!

Oh shall I say, he tried to flirt with me.

Sigh... I felt sorry for the girl, and I just remembered why did I dump him 7 years ago.

Then another ex got married and had a daughter, when he told me that and deliberately asked if I have put on weight. I told him to pass my deepest condolence to his wife.

Rawr... how come all the assholes that I dumped are living or going to live happily ever after!

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
TO MATT AND JANE
HEHE!
CHEERS!
Last year this time, I was preparing to go back to Malaysia to celebrate my grandpa’s 80th birthday.

During my holiday, Matt smsed me out of sudden at 3am one morning. I did not have him in my contacts, thus I asked ‘Who is this?”. He thought I was a bitch coz I have forgotten him.

The fact is we didn’t keep in touch for more than 3 months, that’s why I deleted him from my contacts. I was not happy at all because I thought what a jerk that he did not contact me for months and wanted to be friends again now.

Long story short, we started talking again and decided to go out on our first date in January. *blush

What Matt doesn’t know, when he decided to contact me again, there were other guys who made the same decisions, they wanted to ask me out again. I don’t know why but I have chosen Matt among the 3 of them at that moment, maybe because he could make me laugh genuinely. I think that’s what you call fate because at that moment I didn’t have any intension of having anything to do with the other guys but Matt.

For our first date, I was 45 mins late hahahaha, I was SOO terrible. Matt thought I wasn’t going to turn up so he walked back to his car and I pulled up right next to him and because I was in such hurry, I hit the curb and Matt later told me he thought I was one of those crazy Asian drivers. ><

Then we had coffee and I took him to Karaoke. Haha I think he fell for me after he heard my lovely voice bwahahaha (beh paiseh)

The awkward moment came when we had to say good bye. I sat on my seat (I was driving) and wondering what would he do. He looked at me awkwardly and waited for me to say something. I said ‘Ok, bye.. nice seeing you tonight’ then he left.

At that moment, I thought “uh oh… I blew it? He probably not going to ask me out again, bluekkk”

He went back to work the next day and smsed me on Friday to ask me out again, Yeeha! Hahaha

Then we went out again, we went to have dinner at Hogsbreath and then to the casino. There we hold each other’s hand and shared the first kiss when we parted the night. *I am gushing with all the sweet memories now….

So that’s how we started dating….. I knew somehow everything happened so fast! Sometimes I do wonder if we have known each other enough to start a relationship.

We never identified one another as bf or gf, it all happened very naturally. He met my friends, they liked him, he liked them and there we go. No “I love you, I want to be with you, will you be my bf/gf” shit

Till one day, it hits me… so I asked him (I am a straight forward person). Then he said ‘yes of course you are my gf and I am your bf’ and he thought it was funny that I had to ask that.

I would say I have experienced many things with Matt that I never came across in my previous relationships. He may not be the sweetest bf that I ever had and he can be as mean as you can imagine when he is angry but I love him somehow hahaha I love his sense of humour, love his dedication to his work (I know some aussies who are total slackers), love his intelligence (he is annoyingly smart!...pfft oh.. except cooking), love his generosity, love his down-to-earth character and most important of all, *drum roll, he doesn’t snore! That’s a bonus!

Of course, he has many bad habits as well, that I think I better not reveal here. Same here, I have lots of bad habits and because we grew up in entirely different cultural background, we do certain things quite differently. Matt has to adapt to Asian eating culture which rice/noodle are our main dishes, I have to adapt to using bloody super hot water to wash dishes, Matt has to adapt to using chopsticks, I have to learn a lot more western recipes, Matt has to adapt to karaoke sessions and I have to learn about footy/cricket, thank GOD we both like soccer and basketball.

Everyday was like a learning curve, all the culture differences did hit me pretty hard and took me sometime to come around and tried to accept them.

What I am trying to say, Matt is not perfect, and nobody is. But sometimes, I choose to appreciate his imperfections because only with his imperfections, he loves me…. J And because of my imperfections, I love him J

I just finished reading a book few days ago, a book called "Marley and Me". It is not a book by one of the big book writers but it is written by a man who had a 'thick skulled' golder lab retriever.

He wrote about what he thought the worst dog in the world; described how the thick-skulled dog changed their lives as a couple; all the hilarius moments the dog created and of course the last moment of the dog.

As a dog lover, I totally felt the writer's heartache when his dog 'passed away'; I used 'passed away' because I always think dog is just like human, and I think they are the 'lucky' human beings on earth. Just like what the writer said, dogs live the way we human beings wish to live; dance like no one is watching; love like there is no tomorrow, there is no racism, no culture differences, no designer brands, be 'young at heart' till the very last moment of your life.

This book made me laugh out loud and cried like a baby, sobbing my heart out when I got to the part when the dog was in the last phase of its life.

I had a dog when I was in primary school, not a pure breed but some random stray dog's baby. My dad decided to take it home because we needed a guard dog for the house. I treated him like a baby. His name was Royal.

Though he's called Royal, but he definitely didn't behave like one. He looked forward to any opportunities to run free from the house, but he would come back when he got hungry and twice he brought back with him some STDs that cost thousands of dollars to cure. My mom hated him!

When he got STD the second time, my dad vowed not to take him to the vet, instead he took him to some secluded area and left him there. Yes, my dad abandoned our dog. I was devastated but as a child, I couldn't say more.

One morning, when I was getting ready to go to school, I had a strange feeling. I felt that Royal was waiting for me, and I would see him when I opened the door. True enough, he was right there, wagging his tail till his butt was shaking, I was over the moon to see him and shocked to his ability to find his way home from such a far place, took him only 4 days. My dad was shocked too and decided to take him to the vet.

Then one day, Royal ran away again, but I wasn't upset because I thought he would be back in the evening for his meal. I was wrong, he didn't come back for the next week, months.....

I was clearing the mails one evening and found a notice from one of the government departments. Apparently they caught Royal and told us to pay $x amount to claim him back. I told my dad to claim him back but he refused, and the notice was given to us a couple of months ago, just that we didn't realise it.

Again, I didn't pursue further..... I thought... maybe that's fate

But I totally regretted it now... I should have forced my dad to try to claim it back because I know if we didn't, Royal will be put to sleep then fed to the animals in zoo.

I am soooo sorry.... I felt sorry because I felt so sad and cried my heart out when Marley died, and he wasn't even my dog but I did not shed a tear for Royal. The loyal dog who always wag his tail till his butt dropped, the dog who is so afraid of water that he would knock me down when I pointed the water hose to him, the dog who would go crazy when I tried to play catching with him, the dog who would share watermelon with me, the dog who would played fire crackers with me, the dog who would push his bowl out to the gate so that outher stray dogs could eat from his bowl, the dog who would hum any dogs that he saw, regardless if it was male or female...

I am sorry Royal, I should have tried harder.....

Since it is getting near to the festive season, let’s talk about LOVE

Remember when we were young, just started falling in love; had crush on our seniors in school; cried over sad romance novel or movies; dreaming to the Cinderella in our imagined romance. Then there was always one question in our mind, “What’s love?”

To be honest, until this moment, I have no idea what defines LOVE, because there are too many types of LOVE.

These are my definitions of LOVE.

LOVE from parents:
- Working 10 hours a day, paid for my education and never asked for any returns.
- Never expected me to be the most successful person but a happy and healthy one.

LOVE from my sister (I don’t have any brothers!):
- Waking up at 3am just to hear my ramblings after I quarrel with bf for the Nth time
- Keeping my darkest secrets from my parents
- Playing pc games with me at 4am even she was heavily pregnant

LOVE from friends:
- Listen to my ramblings everyday and anytime of the day
- Give me a hand whenever I need help
- Laugh at my silly jokes

LOVE from bf:
- Watch a movie with me; a movie that I really wanted to watch, though he had seen it
- Fight like cats and dogs the day before and try to hold my hand the day after
- Stretch out his hand to hold mine when we are getting into a crowd
- Wishing me ‘Happy Halloween’ on my birthday!

Having an Aussie bf is really an eye opening experience, especially with their culture.

I don’t mean to take things for granted, but when I was in Malaysia or when I was dating Asian guys, it was pretty common that guys would pay for the meals and expenses when we were out together. And how often would I say “Thanks for dinner / thanks for tonight / thanks for the movie”? No, hardly! Unless it was special occasion like Valentine’s Day when I was given a big bunch of roses, I would say, thank you!

But with Matt, he is always so THANKFUL!

“Thanks baby for cooking dinner.”
“Thanks for coming over”
“Thanks for the night.”
“Thanks for ironing my clothes.”

He says thank you for whatever I do, I feel appreciated for whatever I have done.

Not long after we got together, he once said “how come you never said thank you whenever I pay for dinner or anything?” Of course he asked in a polite way, and it seriously did not strike me that I have to do that?! Not that I wasn’t thankful, just that I didn’t know I have to express it verbally!

I learned slowly and I now say thank you to whatever he does for me, and he will definitely ‘you’re welcome’

Now we are both so thankful that whenever we speak to one another, we would ask “how are you or how’s your day?” and we will answer “I am good thanks”

Weird? I don’t know, but I think I prefer this than the traditional Asian men who take everything for granted and never say thank you to their wives for cooking, cleaning, ironing and etc.

By doing this, you may think we have overdone it, it is way too official. But it is great to be appreciated, thus we wouldn’t mind going further for one another.
